Stephanie Sweet
Stephanie Sweet is a singer-songwriter based in the Columbia River Gorge. Raised by ‘salt of the earth’ Minnesotans, Stephanie’s first musical experiences were singing in church musicals and in the back seat of an over-capacity wood paneled station wagon. Not exposed to secular music until late in her teens, her early influences include Keith Green, Andre Crouch, Jennifer Knapp and good ol’ gospels and hymns. Stephanie was introduced to Led Zeppelin by a live-in house guest and the door to a wider musical world was opened. She now cites a wide range of musical influences including Susan Tedeschi, Alicia Keys, Ray Charles, Fleetwood Mac, Brandi Carlile, and many others.
Stephanie is grateful to live a life that bursts at the seams as she raises three kids with her globe-trotting husband and advocates for a more just world. Her songs touch on everyday simple moments, provide commentary on our social, political and spiritual times, and, of course, love.
